Polar Stories

Stories about the Arctic and Antarctic, covering the science, history, policy, and culture surrounding the most remote places on Earth.

Note from the editor

Everything is weird at the poles. I’m not just talking about the intense climate, the vast glaciers, and the freaky sea spiders that are enormous for some reason. I’m also talking about what the poles represent; they were places of historic idolisation despite their apparent non-utility. They are places of current global contention despite their current state of political and environmental crisis. The world needs a place to talk about the Arctic and Antarctic; the science, history, policy, and culture of these amazing places. It is my hope that we at Polar Stories can build such a place. -PH
